FTP Voyager is a FTP client that does things a little bit differently. However, different not always mean worse, and, in this case, it actually means great. The main difference you will find when you open this application is that the almost-always 2 vertical panels are horizontal here. You are given one panel on the top for your local machine, and the one at the bottom represents the FTP site. FTP Voyagers works much like Windows Explorer, allowing you to change views from a couple presets, like icons, list, details, etc. The one advantage of using the icon's view is that you are given snapshots of your files. So if you are browsing an FTP site with many pictures, you will see previews of those pictures. However, that previewing process can make the whole experience a lot slower, but I guess it would save time if used for specific purposes. FTP voyager also supports FTP to FTP transfers, which does not use your bandwidth to transfer files. It has all the other features that you might expect, as well, such as PASV, file resume, queue system, security features, encryption, and more. |
